Dasha Pruss is an Assistant Professor at UIC and a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. She received her PhD in History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2023. She works in critical data studies, AI ethics, and philosophy of science. Much of her research centers on technologies used in the US carceral system.
Prior to joining UIC in 2025, she was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Computer Science at George Mason University and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, where she was jointly a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center and a postdoctoral fellow in the Embedded EthiCS program.
