Karen Tuleja-Lehner provides assistance to the Chair of the Philosophy Department concerning matters relating to the budget, project management, internal and external campus communications and departmental communications between faculty and staff.  She serves as the business manager for the Philosophy Department, working with other support staff to provide administrative support to Philosophy Department faculty and graduate and undergraduate students.

Valerie Brown
joined the Department in 1989. She manages key aspects of the graduate program — including admissions, records, annual graduate student evaluations, fellowhips, and interactions with the Graduate College — on a daily basis. In 1999 she received a UIC Award of Merit.

Albert Hernandez is the LAS Department Advisor for Philosophy, Economics, and History. He will be assisting undergraduate students in course planning, selection of field of study, general review of progress towards graduation and as a resource for general questions pertaining to University policy.
Mr. Hernandez is located on the 3rd is generally available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays by appointment and is available to see walk-ins on Tuesdays. To schedule an appointment, please telephone the LAS Academic Advising Center front-desk at the number listed above. He joined the Department in September 2013 and has four years of experience in higher education in both an advising and instructional capacity. Mr. Hernandez holds a Master of Arts in History from Florida International University.
